Fun Way to Track Habits.

Six months ago, I went to the doctor to get my bloodwork done. The results surprised me, as I thought I was doing good in regards to my health. But my results said otherwise. My blood pressure was elevated, my cholesterol was high, and my A1C was on the high side. I had not taken into consideration, that while I was eating mostly plant based food, I was still indulging in a lot of processed plant based products, as well as, drinking more than I want to admit of wine. Because of my results, my doctor wanted to see me back again in 90 days to ensure my numbers would go down rather than up.

I had some work to do before my next appointment. I decided to make a cool, colorful art project to keep track of my progress. I made one for no wine, and no chips, or any type of other salty snacks. You see, one thing about having something tangible while trying to create better habits helps. We will call it, a habit tracker. How it works is you title it at the top of whatever habit you want to eliminate, or stick to. You can either make what I did, or do something of your own. My suggestion would be to make it fun. Put the days on the paper, and each day that you stick to your goal you get to put an X through it.

I did this for 90-days. The day of my appointment I was nervous. When she told me that all of my numbers had decreased, I was so excited. I knew making that habit tracker is what really helped.

Creating a habit tracker can help you by seeing it, crossing it off as you crush it, and it gives you a sense of accomplishment when you complete it.
