Why Tiny Changes Make a Big Difference.

Most of the time people think to achieve their goals, they need to go big or go home. Could this way of thinking be why only 9% of people stick to their new year’s resolutions, or why 95% of the Western Population don’t achieve their goals?

Okaaaay! Now that we’ve got the stats out of the way, let’s break this down together and talk about how improving just by 1% can add up to big results. When it comes to changing your eating habits to more healthier choices, you have to focus on small changes. For example: Sit and think of all the processed food that goes into your daily eating regime, and now think of how you can improve it by 1%. By making some small changes to it, you will get a big increase when you tally it all together.

I know what you’re thinking. I can hear you saying: “really Veni! 1% isn’t even noticeable.” But listen to me, it can be more meaningful in the long run. If you drink a Venti Caramel Macchiato, and eat a bacon, cheddar and egg sandwich every morning that’s 800 calories. If you changed that to a 20oz green smoothie, you’d cut 455 calories in the morning, that’s almost a 500 calorie deficit. You could be on your way to losing one pound a week, because 3500 calories equal 1 pound. Shedding 52 pounds in one year is fantastic, the slower the pace, the more likely you will keep it off. The effects of small changes compounds over time.

The next time, or if ever you feel small changes don’t make a difference, clap back at yourself and say, “Nope! Tiny changes do make a difference.”
